Mohamad Adam Mamat

A Kelantan native, Mohamad Adam Mamat did not think that in his
wildest dreams he would move out of his hometown Tok Bali. He began
learning the guitar at the age of 16 due to an interest towards British
Rock / Alternative Music as well as the Malaysian Rock scene. He
fashioned a guitar out of wood, rubber and rope before being able to
afford a proper acoustic guitar to practice on. Learning music on his
own, by ear, inadvertently trained his ears to be meticulous when it
came to timber and the plethora of sound colours. Thus, a fascination
towards sound was born; the true beginnings of a sound engineer.
While pursuing his BA, he began avidly performing
the guitar and bass, as well as wrote songs for functions and events. He
began to sell his songs for those who intended to use them for events,
competitions and albums, even functioning as the sound engineer for
most of these productions. He was also the Assisting Sound Engineer in
the University of Malaya Convocation Ceremony in 2013.
He was also involved on the other side of the recording desk, recording
a song he penned called Genggam and as the Cak (traditional mini
mandolin) player in the Keroncong de Malaya album under Klasik
Nasional.
In his career, he was heavily involved in the Briged Kesenian
Kementerian Dalam Negeri and several artistic events during his
employment there.
In his later years, Adam delved into the world of sound and recording
on his own and with guidance from people in the field. He has no limits
to his self-exploration of sound and his products are deemed high
quality and is being used within the industry today.
