Born and raised in Sabah, Hensley Hilary Anandan began dabbling with
music at the age of 12. Being a singer-song writer, the guitar was his
instrument of choice, despite having the ability to play others such as
the keyboard and drums. He received his tertiary education in Universiti
Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in Tanjung Malim, Perak, and completed
his Diploma in Music majoring in classical guitar in 2014. He then
returned to his old stomping ground and performed in numerous cafés,
festivals, dinners and hotels around Kota Kinabalu and Keningau. One
of which was the first ever North Borneo Youth Camp concert in 2014.
When he was not performing, he was also actively gaining experience
and working for music studios in the field of audio recording, such as in
Green House Studio by Laguna Music Sdn Bhd in 2013-2014.
During his time at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Hensley was
also a substitute teacher at SK St. Francis Xavier and SK Pekan Keningau
in Keningau. This developed his love of teaching which is one of the
many reasons that brought him here today.
Hensley then moved to Selangor in 2017 and began actively teaching
drums and guitar privately and in institutions. Currently, he has
produced examination-grade students for both drums and guitar as well
as music theory. It is clear that his gentle and child-friendly approach
makes him a favourite in classrooms.
